The Proposal

Eli's birthday was November 17 so I planned a fun-filled weekend in New York City. We saw broadway shows, the Rockettes and even added a late night comedy show.  On our last day in the city, which was also Eli's birthday, we took a stroll to the Empire State Building. Eli has never been to the top so we thought it would be the perfect ending to what I thought was already the perfect weekend.  At the top, Eli and I were taking pictures of each other when a very sweet British gentleman offered to take our picture. Eli happily gave him our camera but asked the guy to pause while he took a black, velvet box out of his coat pocket and then knelt on the ground. The british gentleman and I were both surprised as Eli asked me to marry him.  Eli tells me I said 'YES' but with all the emotions I still can't remember exactly what I said at that moment. The British gentleman was also touched by the experience and asked for our picture as his keepsake.  So that is the how the truly perfect weekend came to an exciting and memorable end.
